Newport 2010

I know it's been forever since my last post but who knew life would be so crazy with two babies??We just got back from Newport and it was SO much fun! I was a little nervous about having Reese there and being out in the sun all day but she was a trooper. Brynlee LOVED the beach...especially the shovels. I don't think I got one picture without at least one shovel (most the time she carried around 3 or 4..) Every morning she'd find her swim suit and was ready to head off to the beach! Thank you Tim and Heather for such a fun vacation!

Brynlee had to have her own ice cream...the story of our lives.
All smiles at Balboa Island
what a munchkin..
Brynlee and Aubree
Reese at the beach just chillin

Brynlee with her shovel "mine mine mine" was heard frequently throughout the day.
"Sunscreen mom!"
Reesey ready with her "kini" on
Brynlee and Brave holding hands...presh.

Reese's blessing and my cute husband.

We had Reese blessed this sunday and it was so much fun to have all of our family there! Kyle did an awesome job and I feel so blessed to have a husband who is worthy to hold the priesthood. Here are some pictures from the big day...
I'm albino compared to Kyle...I'm so ready for summer...
presh...
haha Brave was cracking us up! The three cute cousins...
My grandparents came in town for Reese's blessing and it's been so much fun! I'm so sad they're leaving today...
Kissing cousins...haha Brave is such a stud!
Thank you everyone who came!

Ok my husband is the best...he surprised me with tickets to Michael Buble!! Not only did he buy them for me but he came with and sat through the whole thing without a complaint. It was a much needed break for us and it was fun to have a night out with just the two of us! Seriously he was incredible in concert and I couldn't believe how amazing his voice is live. I had to reassure Kyle after that he is still my number one...although Michael might be second...Thanks Heather and Tim for babysitting for us so late!

Our cute girls on Easter...

Easter was so much fun this year! I loved that Brynlee would actually have fun with her easter basket and that we could have an easter egg hunt. I think I was more excited than Brynlee (hence the last picture of her rubbing her eyes...) I made her get up right away to go out to get her stuff :) Then we got to listen to conference which is always a treat!

Here's Brynlee walking in Daddy's shoes. I couldn't get a better picture because she was too busy walking around in them!
All worn out..
Dad bribing Brynlee for a smile...
Brynlee being sassy and refusing to smile...she kills me! haha I love Reese's face in this too her lips are so stinking cute
Reese is getting so big and chubby! I love her little thigh rolls
"Seriously Mom?"
Hope everyone had a fun Easter this year!

Yummy Banana Cake

So I've been in a baking mood lately...Yes it's a little crazy with two kids under 2 years old. But, when I get a total of 3 hours of sleep and there's no hope of getting a nap I have to keep myself crazy busy or I remember how exhausted I am...So after failed attempts at homemade bread and cinnamon rolls, I decided to use up my ridiculously ripe bananas and try this banana cake...yummm It's SO good and moist (I can't believe I just used one of my top 3 grossest words...) Here are the recipes and I'm also posting this to Basic Bites

Banana Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting
Ingredients:
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 2/3 c. sugar
  • 1 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 2/3 c. butter, at room temperature
  • 4 mashed bananas, large
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2/3 c. buttermilk or plain yogurt (I used vanilla yogurt because Ialready had some and it turned out fine)
  • 2/3 c. chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift together: flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and soda. Then add: butter, and bananas. Beatthoroughly, then add: eggs, buttermilk, chopped nuts and vanilla. Mix until well combined. Pour into a greased & floured 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. When cooled, top with Cream Cheese frosting.

"Sprinkles" Cream Cheese Frosting

8 oz of cream cheese, very soft
4 oz of butter, very soft
1/8 tsp salt
4 cups of powdered sugar, sifted
1 tsp of vanilla extract

Beat the cream cheese and butter with the salt until light and fluffy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, and the vanilla - beat until smooth and creamy.

Why we live in Arizona...

Ty was nice enough to let us come swimming at his pool twice this week and it has been SO much fun! Brynlee loves it, to say the least. She screamed when we left and hasn't stopped talking about "wimming at Ty's" since! I love Arizona this time of year!e

What's going on around here.

Who me?! I wasn't doing anything...
Are we sure these two are sisters? They look like different races...
After a long walk with Papa

I had to post these because I thought Brynlee & Reese didn't look much alike but these pictures makes me think differently

I had totally forgotten how fun/tiring it is to have a newborn around the house. There's something amazing about a new baby.
I love the way she smells after a bath
and her little gas bubble smiles
and her grunts and groans (apparently my babies love to make "pretty" noises)
and her HAIR of course :)
and her cutest little cry
and her skinny little feet
and I could go on and on
I'm so lucky I have the cutest little girls in the world!

Looking for a House??

Kyle & my dad have gotten into the real estate business and found this beauty here...It is beautful inside and has an awesome backyard. It has all brand new appliances, carpet, and granite countertops. If you know of anyone that's interested let me know! Here's their company's webite.
